This exhibition was widely viewed and enjoyed in this beautiful space. In 2015 the two showed their new exhibition called "Under Southern Skies" in the newly-refurbished Old Fire Station Gallery of Redcliffe Art Society, with 40 works: landscapes from all over NZ and Australia.Nan frequently wins her sections in Redcliffe Art Society's Exhibition of Excellence each year she enters. She mainly exhibits now in their gallery in Redcliffe.
Nan enjoys rendering landforms, originally the wonderful youthful shapes of New Zealand, and recently the very different ancient face of Australia. Her landscape often escapes into semi-abstract, with the patterning and lines, the forms and voids of the natural world.. Nan is Queensland-born, but began serious painting in NZ after 1995, living in Auckland with Barry Stone, and the pair has travelled widely in both their countries. Nan came out of university study, qualifications and career paths in teaching, geography, book illustration and ceramics, all of which contributing to her sense of shape, tecture, line and colour. In art she is self-taught, and a great gallery-trawler wherever she goes.
Her career is summed up : some 1150 paintings finished over 22 years, around half of these sold, over 100 were gifted to charity, hospices and nursing homes, 38 awards achieved in total, and she has been shown in around 26 galleries over those years in two countries.
