Barry Stone cont...

BARRY STONE , a retired land surveyor who practised in New Zealand and the South Pacific, has lived most of his life on the North Shore, Auckland, with time away in Whakatane, Rotorua, Fiji and Australia. He began painting in 1983, learning at many classes especially through Mairangi Arts Centre, of which he was a Trust Board member. Also a member of NZ Fellowship of Artists, Barry paints for the sheer delight and the challenge of rendering onto canvas his love of the places where he has travelled . Barry is equally proficient in oils and his newer medium of chalk pastel, in landscape as well as abstract. Since 2007, Barry has been engaged in resuming his art practice at his home studio in Margate, Queensland, where his work is displayed in Gallery 22, open every first sunday of the month.
